The
restaurant, situated on the hilltop between Avon and Canton,
is warm, comfortable, polite and friendly. You can often
judge a restaurant by a quick look at the patrons seated
in the dining room. At La Trattoria, it is obvious that
the cuisine appeals to all ages and families. The staff
works the dining room efficiently and with pride, recommending
dishes they believe are best. La Trattoria is a family
run business that has the comfortable atmosphere of a
friend's house.
Even in a dining
room that seats many people, there is a feeling that you
are seated at your own dining table as the staff caters
to your every need. The owner and staff greet and recognize
many of the patrons, and indeed many of the guests recognize
and know each other. Owner Angelo Bettera believes in
connecting with his clientele as he travels across the
dining room speaking with them and learning their likes
and dislikes. It is clear that Mr. Bettera has found a
way to keep everyone happy. La Trattoria also provides
a children's menu and an early bird special every evening.
The comfortable
lounge is overseen by Florence Italy native Andy Pezzuoli,
bartender, sauce creator, and story-teller extraordinaire.
For special events, La Trattoria has banquet rooms that
seat 150 people, plus a Taverna with private bar and stone
walls that seats 70. Please visit our "Banquet"
page for further information on weddings, parties, and
special events.
Mr. Bettera
has been in the restaurant business for over 40 years.

a desire to be a restaurateur. He received his formal
culinary training in Italy at Lago Maggiore and then proceeded
to hold many positions in Italy, Switzerland, Germany,
England, and Bermuda before coming to the United States.
Locally, he was at The Cornerhouse in Farmington before
traveling to Santa Barbara, CA. and then his subsequent
return to La Trattoria in Canton in 1969.
